Mr. Samuels is a carpenter that scanned his payroll check just handed to him by the construction supervisor, and exclaimed, “Hey! Something is wrong! I put in 7 hours of overtime last week, but this check is too small, so someone messed up!” The supervisor promised to check on this and reported back to Mr. Samuels that afternoon that “there had been a computer error, but the check he has included one hour overtime, and the remaining 6 hours would be issued to him tomorrow,” which did in fact happen the following day. Actually, it was determined that the error was a result of one clerk writing 7 hours, but another clerk misreading/entering the overtime as 1 hours, hence the “computer error!!” What are your thoughts on the matter?
