Consider a major commercial service airport in your region, or some airport with which you can become familiar, including an Internet search, and study its environmental aspects. Excellent sources of information are current airport master plans, environmental assessments, environmental impact statements, and other related documents. Pay attention to noise and other environmental impacts.Using the information you obtain, prepare a 2-3 page research paper assessing environmental issues, including noise, through a planner’s point of view. In your opinion, has the airport operator considered all aspects of the issue(s), including consideration of the NEPA process, and has the operator clearly mitigated the impacts?
