television journalists, advertising professionals, public relations
professionals, television and film writers, and direct mail marketers)
and discuss expectations for their behavior within a profession. For
example, what are the ethical expectations for a journalist? Is it the
same ethical expectation as for a public relations professional? In
general, do you believe these media professionals behave ethically? Why
is it important that they do and what happens when they do not behave
ethically?

Develop a 3-paragraph journal entry, use multiple arguments to earn a
“Distinguished” mark. Be sure to support your analysis with sources (I
offered a few in our weekly announcement, plus you should always use
your textbook). Supporting your position helps you establish
credibility, and substantiates it with reliable sources. Please be sure
to proofread carefully.
This is a good outline to follow:
First paragraph: discuss ethical expectations for a media
professional’s behavior within your chosen media field. A strong
paragraph should contain a topic sentence, a few sentences to offer
support for that topic sentence, and final sentence to bring the
paragraph to close. Here you should integrate your course resources –
support your position with evidence!Second paragraph: discuss your personal opinions about whether or
not, in general, these professionals behave ethically in their field.

use specific examples from current or past stories to further examine

important that media professionals behave ethically, and what happens
