The relaxed atmosphere is created with a low soothing, jazz music, natural ambient light, dim accent lights, and a neutral color palette. This appears appropriate given ABC’s philosophy is to make consumers feel at home as they shop (ABC, 2107). As the picture demonstrates, wall color and texture are strategically used to segment the different departments throughout the store. Darker neutral colors along with exposed brick are used in men’s and boy’s departments while beige and faux wood panels are used in the ladies and girls departments. The aroma of lavender and fresh cotton of the candles from ABC’s home goods department fill the air, further putting customers at ease. Aisle ways are clear and wide, and walls are prioritized with product to allow for customer seating on the floor and easier navigation of the store.
