How to calculate theenergy of the scattered x-ray
June 8th, 2024
X-rays with an energy of 300 keV undergo Compton scatteringfrom a target. If the scattered rays are detected at 30degrees relative to the incident rays, find b) the energy of thescattered x-ray, and c) the energy of the recoilingelectron.OK. I’ve already calculated the Compton shift at thisangle to be 3.25e-4nm, but I have no clue how to calculate theenergy of the scattered x-ray, and I’ve seen the equation of how tocalculate the energy of the recoiling electron, but I have no cluewhere it comes from and that’s something I need to understand,(I’ve looked all the book for it, but can’t find it).
